Last minute birthday gift idea for my 4 year old. He recently got into tracks and I love his set because of the disconnecting top that acts as the city intersection. My son could play with it for hours. We have other Hot Wheels City set pieces + town car mat + orange tracks. This was a great addition. He easily snapped the tracks in himself and he loved the little parking area and “stop light”. I love that I can store all of his organe track and pieces in the container and that it’s an easily mobile piece.

I bought this for extra track pieces. The town center is pretty okay and can be used for storage. However, the top piece was an issue I had because of the connectors. I could not get them to lay flat so it was a little bit of a problem.

How much you enjoy this will depend on two factors, one is: do you have other Hot Wheels track sets to combine with this, and two is: did you expect too much from this item on its own? This is not really a stand-alone set, but it is a useful add-on for any other Hot Wheels set, regardless if it is a city set or more of a stunt-type set. The main event of this set is that it comes with its own box, and that box does not benefit from being emptied before you use it. I say that because some box sets have their features on the bottom of the box, forcing you to flip it over and dump whatever parts you didn’t use. Well, the key feature of this box is that it has a pass-through, making it a fun sort of gauntlet for more of a stunt-based set-up, in addition to its more obvious use with the slower little city sets. The box stacks with other boxes as well as it stacks with any box, meaning it does not have a system of molded feet that fit into the lid of the other Hot Wheels boxes. They only cooperate in the sense that the tracks are all compatible. This set has a unique style of pieces, which can be valuable in stabilizing a stunt track, even though there are parts of this set that would have no obvious benefits with a stunt set. Overall, you are buying the box, and a very small quantity of track pieces (the lid is a big track piece junction for slow tracks), yet I totally think this track is worth it just because it is unique and provides themed storage.

Just what we needed to tie our Hot Wheels City together. The track pieces are very sturdy, and we love seeing how creative our son can be connecting these to his existing hot wheels city sets. Great toy!

This was a gift for my toddler who already loves everything Hot Wheels City, and aims to collect every piece, build his own city for his heroes to outwit the evil mad scientist Draven and his host of monsters. This pack contained a fun structure and storage box, but also some very useful curved track pieces. My son has been enjoying it, and this item I always brought out to build his track designs with.
